harvard square station redesign | spring 2012
This project was to renovate the current Harvard Square Station in Cambridge, Mass. Located across from the Harvard University campus, this subway station is used daily by students and the working class. Each team was tasked to creat a station entrance that utilized a single framework component.
The focus of this project was to create a component that combined the interaction of light and directionality with the user. A triangular component was created as the basic component and then repeated through out the structure. The form itself incorporated moving hing doors that transformed the structure from a inhabitable space during the day to a work of art during the evenings.
Thr group utilized the Metal Shop and Welding Shop to create a 1:1 component piece
